Thanks to generous donors, the RCC Foundation has numerous scholarship funds to assist Curriculum (college credit) students with their educational pursuits. During the 2011-2012 school year, the RCC Foundation has awarded nearly $153,000 to Curriculum students. Another $41,000 has been made available to RCC’s financial aid office to award to students who have financial need but who qualify for little or no traditional financial aid.

Contributions of any amount are accepted to the Foundation's existing scholarship funds. Donors may also wish to establish a new scholarship. Endowed scholarships require a minimum contribution of $10,000 that may be pledged over a five-year period. Designated scholarships have no minimum requirement. • Participate in RCC's prestigious Student Leadership Academy during their first year of enrollment
  • Meet regularly with RCC's president, Dr. Robert S. Shackleford Jr.

Recipients must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0, enroll for at least 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester, attend meetings with Dr. Shackleford, and, during the first year, participate in the Student Leadership Academy in order to maintain the scholarship for the second year of enrollment.

To be considered, students must

  • Be a senior in a Randolph County public, private, or home school during the 2011-2012 school year
  • Plan to enroll at RCC in the fall of 2012

Students who meet the preliminary requirements will be invited and required to attend the Presidential Scholars Day at RCC (date in February or March TBA). On this day, students will learn more about RCC's curriculum programs, student life, and the campus. Students also will be interviewed. Finalists will be required to interview at a later day with RCC's president, Dr. Robert S. Shackleford Jr.

Students' academic record and extracurricular/community activities will weigh heavily in the selection of recipients, as will the interviews.

Contributions of any amount are accepted to the Foundation's existing program support funds. Donors may also wish to establish a new fund.
